Great Eastern Shipping Takes Delivery of Long Range 2 Tanker 'Jag Laxman,' Boosts Fleet Capacity​

Great Eastern Shipping Company Limited (GE Shipping) has taken delivery of the 2015 built Long Range 2 Tanker, 'Jag Laxman.' The vessel, which has a capacity of approximately 109,990 dwt, was contracted for purchase by the company during Q1 FY27. This acquisition is financed entirely from internal accruals.

Following the integration of this new asset, GE Shipping's current owned fleet stands at 41 vessels. The expanded fleet comprises Tankers and Dry Bulk Carriers, aggregating a total capacity of 3.35 million dwt.

The company reports that its current capacity utilization is close to 100%. In planning for future operations, GE Shipping has also contracted to sell one secondhand Long Range 2 Product Tanker. This sale transaction is anticipated to be completed during Q2 FY27.

Today, The Great Eastern Shipping Company Limited shares edged higher to settle at ₹1414.2, gaining 2.97% in the closed market session. The stock traded within a range between ₹1378.2 and ₹1428.7 during the day.
