Fermenta Biotech Limited, a major manufacturer of Vitamin D3 API and premium nutritional ingredients, announced its unaudited consolidated financial results for the quarter ended June 30, 2026. The company reported consolidated revenue (including real estate) at INR 126.2 crore, which represents a 13% year-on-year decline and was flat compared to the previous quarter.

For Q1FY27, EBITDA (other than from real estate) stood at INR 22.3 crore, marking a 37% decrease year-on-year and a 10% drop sequentially. When including real estate income, consolidated EBITDA was INR 22.4 crore, down 39% year-on-year and 11% quarter-on-quarter. The company reported Profit after Tax of INR 9.5 crore for the quarter, which saw a 56% decline year-on-year and 49% decline sequentially.

The year-on-year profit reduction was explained by factors outside the core business operations in Q1FY27, including a 40% fall in Vitamin D3 Animal Nutrition realisations, Other Income of INR 6.2 crore against INR 8.77 crore in the preceding quarter (which included a non-recurring insurance claim of INR 2.7 crore), and zero value from real estate unlocking, compared to INR 1.6 crore in Q1FY26.

Segmental Performance and Market Strength​

The company noted that while human nutrition volumes increased by 18% sequentially, the domestic market strengthened significantly. India accounted for 47% of consolidated revenue in Q1FY27, up from 35% a year earlier. Other APIs and Intermediates showed an 18% year-on-year rise. Prashant Nagre, Managing Director, commented on the results, stating that "This was a quarter of building rather than harvesting." He noted that human nutrition volumes rose by 18% over the preceding quarter, and India’s contribution to consolidated revenue grew.
