Exicom Tele-Systems Limited, a prominent player in India's electric vehicle (EV) charging and Critical Power sectors, has announced that it has begun manufacturing advanced liquid-cooled AC and DC power modules at its Hyderabad Smart Manufacturing Facility. This milestone positions the company as the first in India to produce this class of highly specialized liquid-cooled power electronics intended for global markets, significantly boosting Exicom's strategic goal to establish India as a base for technology-forward manufacturing.

The introduction of these advanced modules addresses a critical component of EV charging infrastructure: thermal management. Reliable operation is hampered by heat stress, with studies indicating that nearly 60% of power electronics failures are attributed to excessive temperature increases. Liquid cooling technology counters this threat by absorbing and transferring heat far more effectively than air-cooled systems, maintaining internal temperatures roughly 10 degrees Celsius lower.

Leveraging the proven high-power charging architecture developed by Tritium, Exicom is bringing this globally validated technology to Indian manufacturing. These modules are designed for demanding operational environments, offering superior power density within a compact footprint. Initially, production of these specialized modules will primarily support markets in North America and Europe, specifically assisting Tritium's DC charger portfolio, including the TRI-FLEX™ ultra-fast DC chargers and DC-FLEX™ charging systems.

Looking ahead, liquid-cooled architecture is set to be incorporated into Exicom’s flagship Harmony DC chargers, paving the way for a new stream of high-value power electronics exports originating from India.

Anant Nahata, CEO and Managing Director of Exicom, highlighted the significance of this transition, stating: "Globally, liquid cooling has become the architecture of choice for high-power charging. We are bringing this technology to India. Local manufacturing matters because we now own more of that technology ourselves. We can engineer it, improve it and adapt it faster, for our customers here and across the world."

The sophisticated manufacturing process requires precision, which is being met by Exicom's recently inaugurated Hyderabad Smart Manufacturing Facility. This facility incorporates advanced automation, specialized testing protocols, and digital traceability. This development further solidifies Exicom’s integration with Tritium, the global DC fast charging company acquired in 2024.

Exicom remains a leading manufacturer of EV charging and Critical Power solutions throughout India's transition to sustainable transport. The company holds expertise across the entire EV charger value chain, serving both AC and DC segments.
