EUROBOND Reaches 3.6 MW Captive Solar Capacity, Halving Factory Power Requirements

EUROBOND, the flagship brand of Euro Panel Products Limited, has significantly expanded its commitment to sustainable manufacturing with the successful commissioning of a new grid-connected solar facility in Surat. This expansion brings the company’s total captive solar energy capacity to 3.6 MW, allowing EUROBOND to offset 50% of its factory power consumption through clean energy generation.

The new 2.2 MW solar plant, located in Moti Falod, Surat, concludes the third phase of the multi-year renewable energy roadmap for Euro Panel Products Limited. The facility is designed to generate 30 lakh units of clean electricity annually, helping the company substantially reduce reliance on conventional power grids and eliminating carbon emissions associated with traditional coal-based electricity generation.

The journey toward enhanced energy independence has been progressive. The initial phase began in 2020 with a 520 kW installation, which was later expanded to 1.4 MW in 2024. The recent addition of the plant marks a major milestone, elevating the company’s offset capability from 20% to 50%.

This energy transition is part of EUROBOND’s broader commitment to resource conservation and responsible operations. In addition to solar power generation, the company has implemented robust Zero Liquid Discharge (ZLD) protocols. The in-house sewage and effluent treatment facilities have reclaimed over 1,322,500 litres of treated water in the last six months alone. This reclaimed water is used for site gardening and maintaining greenbelts, ensuring that no industrial wastewater leaves the premises.

The establishment of these clean energy setups and advanced water reclamation systems provides clear environmental benchmarks beneficial to the construction sector. As the industry increasingly seeks low carbon building materials, EUROBOND’s operations offer architects and project planners crucial information needed to achieve their green building certifications.

Divyam Shah, Whole Time Director and CFO of Euro Panel Products Limited, emphasized that sustainability is embedded in the company's culture. He stated that expanding captive solar infrastructure to 3.6 MW reinforces the commitment to efficient manufacturing while reducing carbon footprint and conserving natural resources.

In other operational improvements, EUROBOND expanded its in-house laboratory’s NABL accreditation scope. The scope was expanded from covering 16 parameters to 51 parameters, encompassing testing across coil, coating, core, ACP, and MCP.
