DSM Fresh Foods Reports Robust Q1 FY27; Revenue Jumps 58% YoY, Proforma Revenue Reaches ₹85 Crore

Mumbai: DSM Fresh Foods Limited, an integrated omnichannel fresh protein company, announced its provisional and unaudited business performance update for the quarter ended June 30, 2026. The company recorded a significant start to FY27, with Revenue from Operations growing by 58% year-on-year (YoY) to approximately ₹74 crore.

The results reflect successful operational expansion and strategic acquisitions. Following the completion of the Meevaa Foods acquisition in the first week of July 2026, the combined consumer business is operating at an approximate pro-forma quarterly revenue run rate of ₹85 crore, reflecting enhanced scale.

Retail Expansion and Distribution Growth

DSM Fresh Foods demonstrated accelerated growth in its consumer and distribution network. The company expanded its retail footprint to approximately 200 co-branded outlets, substantially surpassing the original FY27 target of 150 outlets. This rapid expansion is set to strengthen the contribution of the higher-value B2C business throughout FY27.

The growth in institutional and consumer segments was bolstered by several key initiatives:

  • Distribution Channels: Customer reach expanded across multiple sales channels, including Amazon, Blinkit, modern retail platforms, and food service (HORECA) customers.
  • Institutional Business: Over 70 new enterprise customers were added during the quarter, strengthening the institutional pipeline domestically and in export markets.
  • Consumer Scaling: The rapid expansion of the retail network is supported by continued scaling of Meevaa Foods across quick commerce, e-commerce, and retail platforms, focusing on frozen, ready-to-eat, and ready-to-cook food categories.

Strengthening Farm-to-Fork Ecosystem

The company continued to strengthen its integrated farm-to-fork ecosystem through focused investments in backward integration and aquaculture development. DSM Fresh Foods now works with over 1,700 seafood farmers across its sourcing network, having onboarded 10 new sourcing partners and initiating land aggregation across 270 acres.

Furthermore, Varuna Aquatech Private Limited was incorporated as a dedicated platform to support long-term aquaculture ecosystem development. The company also successfully participated in AquaEx, enhancing industry visibility and strategic partnerships within the aquaculture value chain.

International Market Penetration

International distribution saw expansion through strengthened relationships across key markets, including the UK, Canada, and the GCC region, which included onboarding a dedicated distribution partner in Dubai. DSM Fresh Foods continues to expand export opportunities across both institutional and branded business segments, consolidating its international presence.

Long-Term Guidance and Outlook

DSM Fresh Foods reiterated its long-term growth roadmap, targeting ₹600 crore in revenue by FY28. This goal is supported by an expected EBITDA margin of 18-20%, driven by operating leverage achieved through the integrated farm-to-fork platform, accelerated omnichannel expansion, increasing contribution from value-added products, and deeper backward integration.

Commenting on the performance, Mr. Deepanshu Manchanda, Managing Director, stated that the company began FY27 with strong business momentum. He noted that strategic initiatives undertaken during the quarter have further solidified the sourcing ecosystem and integrated farm-to-fork capabilities, positioning DSM Fresh Foods to address the rapidly growing organized fresh protein market.

The outlook for India’s fresh protein industry remains positive, supported by rising urbanization, increasing disposable incomes, and a growing consumer preference for hygienic and branded food products, alongside the rapid expansion of quick commerce channels.
