Power Sector Tariff and Dispute Status
Regarding the Power Division of DEE Development Engineers Limited, the company faced a tariff revision by the Punjab State Electricity Regulatory Commission (PSERC). PSERC had initially revised the tariff to Rs. 5.877 per unit in an order dated August 20, 2025. The company filed an appeal against this order before the High Court of Punjab & Haryana. Subsequently, the High Court stayed the operation of the Commission's order on October 23, 2025.Due to the court stay, the company will continue to supply electricity to PSPCL at the prevailing tariff of ₹7.47 per unit. The company also noted that any recovery claimed by PSPCL regarding the tariff differential will remain withheld until the matter is finally disposed of by the High Court.
Furthermore, regarding the operations of Malwa Power, the PSERC had fixed the tariff rate for FY 2025-26 at Rs 5.224/kWh (comprising Rs 0.97 fixed + Rs 4.254 variable) with an annual escalation of 5% on variable cost. For FY 2026-27, the tariff rate is set at Rs. 5.437 per kWh. The company, however, has filed an appeal before the APTEL, New Delhi, challenging the PSERC order to seek an increase in the tariff as per CERC regulations. The projected revenue for FY 27 for Malwa Power is approximately Rs. 47.71 crores, which includes Rs. 23.4 crores from the pellet plant.
Revenue Recognition and Exchange Rate
The company clarified that while the executed orders represent the total value of invoices raised with customers, revenue recognized under Indian GAAP (Ind AS 115) may differ from the invoiced amount. This difference can arise due to the application of various Incoterms and performance obligations under the respective contracts. Revenue recognition is aligned with the transfer of control of goods or services to the customer, and not solely based on invoicing milestones. Consequently, revenue recognized during the reporting period may be lower than the total invoiced value for the same period. For existing export orders of DEE Thailand, the exchange rate considered was set at 1 THB = 2.87705 INR.
