Cyient Semiconductors Secures Strategic Funding from Edelweiss at ~$500 Mn Valuation

Hyderabad, India (May 25, 2026) A.Cyient Semiconductors today announced a strategic financing transaction with funds managed by EAAA India Alternatives Ltd, known as Edelweiss, along with affiliated co-investors. This transaction includes an equity investment of approximately USD 10 Mn (INR 100 Crores) at a post-money equity valuation of USD ~500 Mn (INR 4600 Crores). Furthermore, the financing includes structured debt capital, aiming to fortify the company's capital structure and support the scaling of its global semiconductor business.

The semiconductor market is currently characterized by a growing focus on power and artificial intelligence (AI). AI is driving a significant increase in compute power, making energy efficiency paramount, as data center energy consumption is projected to climb nearly four times by 2030. Simultaneously, India's semiconductor ambitions are accelerating, supported by key initiatives such as the India Semiconductor Mission (ISM) and the Design Linked Incentive (DLI) scheme, alongside a push toward domestic product development across the value chain.

Strengthening the Semiconductor Platform

Cyient Semiconductors has focused on building a differentiated semiconductor platform by making key strategic moves. Over the past twelve months, the company completed the acquisition of Kinetic Technologies, a power semiconductor firm possessing a portfolio of over 250 products and more than 100 patents, along with having shipped over 3 billion chips.

The company also established strategic partnerships with GlobalFoundries, MIPS, and Navitas, and launched India's first Gallium Nitride (GaN) power IC family in collaboration with Navitas Semiconductor. Additionally, Cyient Semiconductors secured the SCL modernization program, a crucial element in India's semiconductor roadmap. These steps transition the company toward a product-led platform spanning custom silicon and power semiconductor solutions, serving global clients in AI infrastructure, automotive, industrial, and communications markets. This development enhances the company's position across the semiconductor value chain, shifting towards system-led silicon development and greater product ownership.

Investment Deployment Strategy

The financing structure details a combined capital injection designed to support long-duration growth.

Funding ComponentValue
Equity InvestmentApproximately USD 10 Mn
Structured DebtApproximately USD 20 Mn
Combined CapitalApproximately USD 30 Mn

This combined amount of approximately USD 30 Mn is slated for deployment across three primary strategic priorities:
1. Advancing the company's product R&D roadmap across custom power semiconductors and custom Analog Standard Signal Products (ASSPs).
2. Building in-house semiconductor validation and testing infrastructure within India to strengthen development and qualification capabilities.
3. Supporting working capital requirements as Cyient Semiconductors scales up larger, longer-cycle global customer programs.

The investment is specifically focused on scaling proprietary capabilities in power semiconductors and custom silicon, areas where sustained Research & Development (R&D) and Intellectual Property (IP) create long-term competitive advantages.

Commenting on the investment, Suman Narayan, Chief Executive Officer, Cyient Semiconductors, stated, "Power is the defining constraint on AI's next decade and solving it requires semiconductor companies that combine deep custom silicon capability with proprietary power IP. That is exactly what Cyient Semiconductors is building. This financing from Edelweiss accelerates our journey toward becoming a globally relevant power semiconductor company, built from India, competing on the world stage."

Cyient Semiconductors is a Hyderabad-headquartered provider of custom ASIC/ASSP solutions, specializing in analog mixed-signal, intelligent power, and advanced semiconductor platforms.

CYIENT Stock Price Movement

Shares of Cyient Limited are edging higher to ₹908.50 as of 10:08 AM today, rallying 0.75% in live trading. The equity is showing strong buying interest, trading on 36,573 shares so far into the session.
