CONCOR partners with GAIL to establish LNG dispensing station at Ahmedabad depot
Container Corporation of India Ltd. (CONCOR) and GAIL (India) Limited have signed a long-term agreement aimed at establishing a state-of-the-art Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) dispensing station. The facility will be located at CONCOR's Inland Container Depot (ICD) in Khodiyar, Ahmedabad.This strategic partnership marks a significant step toward transitioning India's heavy-duty commercial logistics sector to sustainable fuel alternatives. Under the 15-year agreement, GAIL will manage the retail LNG outlet infrastructure, holding exclusive operational control.
In return, CONCOR will provide the necessary support for the green corridor project. This includes dedicating a land parcel of approximately 3,000 square meters and ensuring essential utility connectivity at its high-traffic Ahmedabad terminal.
To ensure the commercial viability of the initiative, CONCOR has committed to deploying a dedicated fleet of 15 LNG-powered commercial vehicles beginning in the first contract year.
The multi-modal facility is designed for round-the-clock operation, offering eco-friendly fueling solutions not only to CONCOR's logistics fleet but also to open-market commercial vehicles.
The agreement was formally signed by Shri Mani Bhushan Singh, GGM (Projects & Services) at CONCOR, and Shri Hitendra Kumar Garg, ED (Marketing) at GAIL. The signing ceremony took place on July 8, 2026, at the GAIL office in New Delhi, with senior officials from both companies present.
