C2C Advanced Systems and Kilo Solutions Announce Exclusive Alliance for Maritime Simulation in Indian Defence Sector
C2C Advanced Systems Limited has established an exclusive alliance with UK-based firm Kilo Solutions Limited to provide portable maritime virtual reality simulation solutions for India's Defence and Government sectors. The Memorandum of Understanding, dated June 9, 2026, designates C2C as the sole partner for promoting and deploying Kilo’s specialized technologies across the Indian Navy, the Indian Coast Guard, and other government maritime organizations within India. The partnership is set to address critical training needs given India's rapid naval expansion. While the Indian Navy is commissioning 19 warships in 2026—the largest single-year fleet expansion since the force’s founding—there remains a structural gap between fast-paced fleet induction and available training capacity.
Strategic Focus on Naval Readiness
The alliance centers on delivering comprehensive technology-to-operator lifecycle support for Indian maritime forces. C2C, which has previously delivered Combat Management Systems to the Royal Malaysian Navy and is an approved vendor for the Indian Navy for navigational systems, will manage deployment, hardware integration, and user training of Kilo’s platforms. The partnership aims to provide a fully integrated solution covering both platform capability (through C2C's systems architecture) and crew competence (through Kilo’s simulation portfolio). The companies have jointly established a pilot Offshore Development Centre in India to focus on localization, scenario development, and software customization for the domestic customer base.
Technology and Operational Capabilities
Kilo Solutions Limited is a developer of portable maritime virtual reality simulation technology, offering solutions that allow ship bridge teams to train independently, whether at sea or in port.Key technologies provided through this alliance include:
- VASCO: This is described as the world's first untethered virtual reality bridge simulator. It functions as a cloud-connected platform accessed via Meta Quest headsets and supports up to five simultaneous users within a multi-user virtual bridge environment. Organizations that have deployed VASCO have reported training spend reductions of up to 72 percent against conventional methods.
- VIAB: This is the field deployable version, designed for environments lacking internet connectivity or local infrastructure. Each VIAB unit contains four Meta Quest headsets and a dedicated router, allowing operational readiness in under ten minutes.
The simulation technology also extends into engineering training through VECR (Virtual Engine Control Room), replicating a ship’s engine control room environment for immersive, real-time instruction.
Global Credibility Underpins Alliance
Kilo's simulation platforms have demonstrated credibility with demanding international navies. The United States Navy's Office of Naval Research selected Kilo to adapt VASCO into VIBraNT (Virtual Bridge and Navigational Trainer), which was subsequently demonstrated aboard a US Navy aircraft carrier in January 2026. Separately, the Royal Navy of the United Kingdom procured 24 VIAB units for shipboard deployment in March 2025.The scope of C2C’s role includes developing India-specific training content, covering harbor and port databases, vessel libraries, operational scenarios, and customized solutions aligned with Indian maritime forces' requirements.
Market Outlook and Commentary
India's naval ambition is reflected in the current fleet status, with 54 vessels currently under active construction across six domestic shipyards, and a further 74 platforms accorded Acceptance of Necessity by the Defence Acquisition Council, representing a combined outlay of approximately Rs 2.35 lakh crore. The Chief of Naval Staff has set a goal of inducting 96 ships and submarines over the next decade.Commenting on the alliance, Commander LSS Narendra, Chief Operations Officer at C2C Advanced Systems, stated that the collaboration is aimed at delivering world-class portable maritime simulation capabilities backed by Indian integration, training, and sustainment infrastructure to build long term capability within India. Mr. Andy Parkin, Managing Director of Kilo Solutions Limited, added that he was "delighted to formalise our relationship with C2C Advanced Systems as our exclusive partner for the Indian Defence and Government sector," noting C2C's expertise makes them an ideal partner for maritime training modernization in India.
