C2C Advanced Systems Launches AI-Assisted Maritime Security Platform in European Defence Consortium

C2C Advanced Systems Launches AI-Assisted Maritime Security Platform in European Defence Consortium

C2C Advanced Systems Limited has successfully launched Coastguard X, an integrated AI-assisted maritime security ecosystem, as part of an international defence consortium. The debut occurred at the Black Sea Defense, Aerospace and Security Exhibition (BSDA) 2026, held in Bucharest, Romania.

The Company’s platform leverages its indigenous MAGI-C5ISR architecture, which functions as the crucial intelligence and command layer for the new security system.

Entry into the European Defence Ecosystem

This launch marks a significant structural shift for C2C Advanced Systems Limited, positioning the Company within the European defence ecosystem. C2C participated as a consortium partner in a programme led by Carfil S.A., a subsidiary of ROMARM (Compania Națională ROMARM S.A.), which is Romania’s largest defence industrial group, wholly owned by the Romanian state.

The consortium is composed of Farpoint, Top Metrology, DxDrones, and C2C Advanced Systems. Carfil operates a NATO-compatible defence production base in Brașov and formed the platform's industrial backbone.

Addressing Critical Energy Security in the Black Sea

The need for advanced maritime protection is driven by the ongoing infrastructure build-out in the Black Sea. A primary focal point is Romania's Neptun Deep project, a joint development between OMV Petrom and the state-owned Romgaz.

The project is scheduled to commence production in 2027 and is expected to elevate Romania to the status of the European Union's largest natural gas producer and a net gas exporter. The scale of this development is highlighted by the following key figures:

MetricValue
InvestmentApproximately EUR 4 billion
Recoverable ReservesClose to 100 billion cubic metres of natural gas

Neptun Deep anchors broader offshore energy investments across the region, establishing the area as a principal node for European energy security. Increased security concerns regarding such vital infrastructure have solidified the requirement for robust, multi-domain protection systems.

Technical Capabilities of Coastguard X

Coastguard X is designed as a multi-domain maritime security ecosystem for protecting strategic areas, including LNG terminals, offshore platforms, ports, and maritime borders. The platform integrates various technologies into a unified operational picture.

Key functional components include:
  • Multi-sensor autonomous beacons.
  • Maritime ISR drones.
  • Multi-domain detection covering aerial, surface, and underwater environments.
  • An AI-assisted command and control centre.

C2C’s MAGI-C5ISR architecture is central to the platform’s operation. It binds the platform’s distributed sensors and detection elements into a unified system, enabling real-time data fusion and AI-assisted command-and-control. The architecture is notably sensor-agnostic and effector-agnostic by design.

The platform’s capabilities are geared toward detecting and monitoring unidentified vessels, drones, underwater activities, and asymmetric maritime threats while also incorporating dual-use capabilities for ecological and environmental surveillance.

Strategic Significance

Industry experts note that the launch represents the first time C2C’s MAGI-C5ISR architecture has been integrated into a European defence programme anchored in a NATO member state's industrial base.

Lakshmi Chandra, Managing Director of C2C Advanced Systems Limited, commented on the importance of the launch, stating that the architecture was built to perform real-time operations across multiple sensors and multiple domains, addressing the acute security needs of the Black Sea region.

The move expands C2C Advanced Systems Limited's operating model, moving beyond traditional bilateral defense relationships into the realm of multilateral industrial consortia, thus establishing a technical reference point for the Company’s mission systems within European maritime security and critical infrastructure protection programs.
