Strong Performance Across Key Segments
The quarter was marked by sustained momentum in the Food & FMCG business, profitable operation of Edible Oils despite global market volatility, and healthy earnings contribution from Industry Essentials.The Food & FMCG segment specifically registered revenue of INR 1,726 Crore, achieving a 22% YoY growth. This segment delivered over INR 100 Crore in EBITDA. Rice emerged as the fastest-growing category within this portfolio, recording more than 40% YoY growth, credited to strategic initiatives undertaken previously. Core staples such as Wheat Flour, Pulses, Besan, and Poha continued to show strong consumer demand and distribution-led expansion.
The Edible Oil business maintained robust profitability despite fluctuations in global markets, registering a 2% YoY volume growth. The segment experienced temporary channel destocking amid commodity price swings but saw resilient underlying consumer demand. Strong execution and improved pricing discipline supported the sector's healthy profitability.
In Industry Essentials, volume grew 13% YoY, and revenue rose by 28% YoY. The Oleochemicals & Specialty Chemicals business, which contributes around 40% of the segment’s revenue, recorded double-digit growth while maintaining high single-digit EBITDA margins. To support its strategy in specialty applications, the company is expanding its oleochemicals manufacturing capacity in Southern India.
Growth Driven by Channel Diversification and Digital Focus
The diversification across channels was a key driver for overall growth. Alternate Channels (including E-commerce, Quick Commerce, and Modern Trade) grew 27% YoY, with LTM revenues exceeding INR 5,600 Crore.Quick Commerce proved to be a significant growth engine for the company's oil and food portfolio, registering a sharp 56% YoY growth. The HoReCa business delivered 30% YoY growth, supported by improved execution and expansion into new towns. Branded Exports also showed rapid scaling, with volumes doubling during the quarter.
Operational Network Expansion
In terms of distribution and operational strength, the company continued strengthening its network. The direct retail universe expanded by more than 100,000 outlets on a YoY basis.
