AWL Agri Business Backs Regenerative Mustard Programme Expansion Following Up To 30% Higher Yields

AWL Agri Business Limited, a leading name in India's food and FMCG sector, has strongly endorsed the expansion of the Solvent Extractors' Association of India (SEA) Regenerative Mustard Model Farm Programme. This endorsement comes after the program successfully demonstrated significant yield improvements across various demonstration farms during the 2025-26 Rabi season, confirming regenerative agriculture's potential to bolster farm productivity and soil health.

The initiative, which was led by SEA, involved initial demonstrations covering 3,000 plots in Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, and Haryana. AWL Agri Business participated as a lead sponsor, working alongside Bunge India, Louis Dreyfus India, Godrej Agrovet, VVF India, JR Agro Industries, and Arihant Solvex, with Solidaridad Network Asia serving as the implementation partner.

The program aims to showcase how regenerative agriculture can improve farm productivity while promoting healthier soils, efficient input use, and better farm economics. With India importing nearly 55-60 percent of its edible oil requirements, improving domestic oilseed productivity is viewed as a national priority. The encouraging results reinforce the potential for these farming practices to strengthen India's edible oil value chain.

Commenting on the outcomes, Shrikant Kanhere, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of AWL Agri Business Limited, stated that "India's journey towards edible oil self-reliance begins with improving productivity at the farm level." He added that collaborative initiatives like this create a scalable model capable of strengthening farmer incomes and building climate resilience.

Phase I Outcomes Deliver State-Wise Improvements

The first phase of the SEA program, which launched in 2019, involved Front Line Demonstration plots across 14 districts in Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, and Haryana. The program works with lead farmers to demonstrate regenerative practices, including improved soil management and sustainable cultivation techniques.

The programme delivered significant improvements in productivity and farm economics across all participating states. Detailed outcomes are presented below:

Haryana10030 per cent1,9002,470From 3.5 to 4.8
Madhya Pradesh1,58020.5 per cent1,9002,295From 2.5 to 3.1

Program Expansion Plans for 2026-27 Crop Cycle

Building on the successful outcomes of the first phase, SEA and its industry partners plan a significant expansion during the 2026-27 crop cycle. This next phase will establish over 400 regenerative groundnut and soybean model farms during the Kharif season, alongside more than 3,000 regenerative rape-mustard model farms for the Rabi season across Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, and Haryana.

This expansion supports the Government of India's National Mission on Edible Oils (NMEO-OS), which aims to boost domestic oilseed production through sustainable agricultural practices and reduce reliance on edible oil imports.

AWL Agri Business reaffirmed its commitment to supporting science based initiatives that strengthen agricultural resilience. As a leading food and FMCG company with extensive links across the agricultural value chain, AWL intends to continue working with industry partners to advance India's edible oil ecosystem and contribute to the nation's goal of edible oil self-reliance.

AWL Stock Price Movement

Today, shares of AWL Agri Business Limited edged higher to close at ₹185.68, achieving a 2.51% gain. The stock traded steadily throughout the session, finding its low at ₹181.05 and peaking at an intraday high of ₹186.9.
