Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi today inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for multiple development projects across aviation, clean energy, connectivity, and semiconductors in Bhogapuram, Vizianagaram, Andhra Pradesh. These massive multi-sectoral initiatives, valued at over ₹17,900 crore, are set to fundamentally transform the state's landscape and boost its industrial capacity.

The Prime Minister emphasized that these developments symbolize the rapid progress of Andhra Pradesh. He stressed the absolute need for the region to maximize the potential of its talented youth through investment in futuristic technologies like semiconductors.

Transforming Aviation and Connectivity

The aviation sector witnessed a significant moment during the event, as a new airport was dedicated on the land where Alluri Sitarama Raju devoted his life to tribal welfare. The Prime Minister asserted that this facility serves as a crucial runway for growth across Andhra and North Andhra, providing a launchpad for the youth.

Highlighting the transformation of civil aviation over twelve years, Shri Modi noted the increase from 74 operational airports in 2014 to the current count of 166. This expansion democratizes air travel, making it accessible to ordinary citizens from smaller cities.

Further boosting air connectivity, the Prime Minister highlighted the UDAN scheme and its second phase launch, which is backed by a substantial investment of ₹29,000 crore. He also commended the ‘spoke airport’ model in Kashi that has expanded Amritsar’s network to over 25 international destinations.

Accelerating Blue Economy and Industrial Shift

The government's commitment to strengthening the Blue Economy was detailed through the revitalization of maritime infrastructure. The Prime Minister outlined a vision to develop the entire coastal stretch as an integrated Coastal Economic Corridor.

This strategy involves modernizing older ports, from Visakhapatnam to Krishnapatnam, while simultaneously constructing new maritime hubs at Mulapeta and Ramayapatnam. These port developments are set to drive economic momentum in the region.

Industrialization is being aggressively pushed through multiple sectors. The foundation laying of a new semiconductor plant in Visakhapatnam marks a major step towards harnessing futuristic technology. Furthermore, the state plans to become a leading national pharmaceutical hub with support for a massive new Pharma Park in Nakkapalli.

Blueprint for Regional and Global Ascendancy

The Prime Minister underscored that seamless regional integration is critical, achieved through massive infrastructure upgrades. Railway projects worth approximately ₹1 lakh crore are currently underway, encompassing complete network electrification and the modernization of over seventy stations.

To ensure frictionless commerce, the PM highlighted the pivotal role of the PM Gati Shakti National Master Plan in unifying rail, port, and air infrastructure. These multi-modal transport upgrades are designed to optimize logistics, bolster exports, and significantly improve the Ease of Doing Business for farmers and industries alike.

The Prime Minister emphasized that a supportive ecosystem is paramount for successful industrial growth. He noted that global companies are now keen to invest in Andhra Pradesh following diligent preparatory work by the state leadership. This includes major commitments such as Google's fifteen-billion-dollar campus announcement, offering vast opportunities for local talent.
