The strategic rationale behind the acquisition centers on creating an AI-native operating system for the Indian real estate market. By combining Housing's marketplace, which maintains over 58 million average monthly traffic and 12 million monthly active users, with Aurum’s transaction platform, the company intends to establish a single AI and data architecture. This technology stack will serve as the operating layer for the ecosystem, connecting consumer demand, developer inventory, brokerage activity, and rental transactions.

The integrated platform is designed to improve efficiency and customer experience across various stages of the real estate lifecycle, including discovery, matching, pricing, and decision-making.

Ashish Deora, Founder and CEO of Aurum Ventures, noted that the combination of marketplace and transactions on one platform would create compounding synergies. He highlighted that the unified data flywheel will allow the platforms to work together so that every intent, transaction, and financing activity makes the ecosystem smarter.

Cameron McIntyre, CEO of REA Group, stated that Aurum possesses the necessary local market knowledge and capability to operate the India business effectively. He expressed confidence in the team's ability to build on the existing foundations established by the current leadership.
