
Afcons Secures ₹1,918 Crore Contract for Desalinated Water Tunnel Project in Mumbai
Afcons Infrastructure Ltd has received a Letter of Acceptance (LoA) from the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) for the Design and Construction of a critical desalinated water conveyance tunnel project in Mumbai. The project is valued at ₹1,918 crores, inclusive of GST and Operations & Maintenance (O&M).The tunnel, designated as a vital component to ensure sustainable water supply for the city, will run from the proposed Water Pumping Station at Manori to Charkop, extending onward to Mahavir Nagar in Kandivali.
Executive Chairman Krishnamurthy Subramanian stated that the desalinated water conveyance tunnel represents a major step toward securing Mumbai's water needs and underscores Afcons’ engineering excellence and execution capabilities. Managing Director S Paramasivan added that the firm is honored to partner with BMC, noting that this complex project will be executed on time alongside the Kasheli-Mulund water conveyance tunnel while maintaining high standards.
