Mumbai, January 02, 2026: Tembo Global Industries Limited (NSE: TEMBO) said its wholly owned subsidiary Tembo Classic Engineering Private Limited has received a defence manufacturing licence to set up a small arms manufacturing facility in Maharashtra, marking a key milestone in the group’s entry into India’s defence manufacturing space.

Tembo Classic Engineering Private Limited, formerly known as Tembo Defence Products Private Limited, received the approval from the Government of Maharashtra. The development enables the company to move ahead with its plans to establish a dedicated small arms manufacturing unit in the state.

The proposed facility is planned in collaboration with MIDC, Mumbai, following a memorandum of understanding signed with the Government of Maharashtra at the World Economic Forum 2025 in Davos. The project aligns with the company’s long-term strategy to expand into defence manufacturing while strengthening domestic production capabilities.
