TCS Reshuffles Leadership and Establishes New Business Units to Dominate AI and Digital Transformation Era

Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) has undertaken its most significant leadership restructuring in three years. The company announced extensive changes across multiple key markets, involving various top roles and business units. These strategic realignments are designed to bolster leadership bandwidth and provide focused attention to specialized industry segments amid the accelerating AI-led growth era.

Reorganization of BFSI Vertical and Key Market Leaders

The restructuring has major implications for TCS's banking, financial services, and insurance (BFSI) vertical, which accounts for over 30 percent of the company's revenue. Susheel Vasudevan, who currently heads Business Group BFSI Americas, has been moved into a strategic role reporting directly to TCS CEO and MD K Krithivasan.

The BFSI Americas portfolio has been broken down into two distinct business groups. Rakesh Kumar, ISU Head for BFSI US West, and Mohan Veeturi, currently ISU Head for BFSI US East Banking, have been appointed as the Business Group Heads for these newly formed units.

Further shifts include Manmeet Chhabra, previously ISU Head for BFSI Canada, who will now serve as the Country Head for TCS Canada. Sabyasachi Chandra (Saby), currently leading the North America Utilities unit, is set to take charge as the Business Group Head for the newly created Energy, Resources & Utilities Business Group.

Launch of New Dedicated Industry and Practice Units

To provide dedicated focus on specific industry needs in the AI age, TCS has launched several critical new business units. A dedicated Travel, Transport & Hospitality (TTH) Business Group has been established. Arun Pradeep, who previously headed the TTH UK & Europe ISU, will now serve as the Business Group Head for this newly formed vertical.

A significant practice development is the creation of a global role focused on ServiceNow operations. Rajnish Palande, currently the ISU Head for BFSI Americas - US East Insurance, has been appointed as the Global Head of ServiceNow Practice. He is tasked with driving the company's global ServiceNow agenda end-to-end.

COO Aarthi Subramanian stated in an internal note that the dedicated focus on this area comes as TCS entered a "unique 360-degree partnership with ServiceNow," which includes committed GTM for focused Fortune 500 customers. This gives the company confidence to become a global leader in the ServiceNow ecosystem.

Focus Intensifies on Cybersecurity and Autonomous Operations

TCS is also substantially strengthening its cybersecurity business unit. Kumaranarayanan, who currently serves as ISU Head of North America Energy & Resources, has been appointed to lead the newly strengthened Cyber Security unit.

A new dedicated sales organization focusing specifically on Autonomous Business Operations has also been created. Akhilesh Tiwari will lead this new unit. Akhilesh most recently headed the Communications, Media and Information Services business group.

K Krithivasan noted in an internal communication that these industry segment focused groups were being established to "strengthen leadership bandwidth" across TCS's varied portfolio.
