Mumbai, July 27, 2026: Tata Power Company Limited reported a strong performance for the first quarter of fiscal year 2027 (Q1 FY27), announcing a Profit after Tax (PAT) of ₹ 1,401 crore, marking an 11% increase year-on-year. The company's revenue grew to ₹ 18,898 crore, while Earnings Before Interest, Taxes and Depreciation (EBITDA) rose by 8% to ₹ 4,249 crore.

The results underscore solid execution across the company’s diverse businesses, as Tata Power commenced FY27 with a robust footing, investing a historic capital expenditure of ₹5,375 crore in the quarter alone.

Business and Operational Highlights​

The company's performance was driven by several key operational achievements across its generation, transmission, distribution, and renewable energy segments.

Renewable Energy & Manufacturing:
Tata Power demonstrated strong progress in pioneering solar manufacturing through the indigenization of the solar value chain. TP Solar achieved its highest-ever quarterly production with 1,001 MW of modules and 862 MW of cells manufactured, contributing ₹ 2,462 crore in revenue. Furthermore, the company is advancing a 10 GW photovoltaic ingot and wafer manufacturing facility, having signed an MoU for 128 acres of land in Gopalpur SEZ.

The Rooftop Solar business saw a significant expansion, with 371 MWp installed during the quarter, up 37% year-on-year, generating ₹ 1,350 crore in rooftop revenue. Tata Power's cumulative installed capacity for Solaroof now stands at 5.2 GWp, serving over 4.8 lakh customers through its network of 3,778 authorized Channel Partners and Retailers.

Generation and Project Milestones:
The Generation business maintained a robust average availability of 96.2%. The company is advancing on both the Khorlochhu hydropower project in Bhutan, which is tied up under a 30-year power purchase agreement with TPTCL, and the Bhivpuri Pumped Hydro Storage (PSP) Project at 1,000 MW. Tata Power secured a Letter of Award from SECI to supply 324 MW for 40 years from its 1,000 MW PSP project in Maharashtra.

The Mundra Plant resumed full operations from April 1, 2026, and continues to operate under Section 11, supplying power as directed by the Ministry of Power.

Transmission & Distribution:
In Transmission, Tata Power secured a Letter of Intent from REC Power Development & Consultancy (RECPDCL) for the Ryapte intra-state TBCB project in Karnataka, valued at over ₹4,000 crore and spanning 491 Ckm. This addition brings the total transmission portfolio to 7,894 ckm.

In Distribution, Tata Power Delhi Distribution Limited crossed 10,000 Rooftop Solar installations in Delhi, accounting for 160 MWp of distributed clean energy. The company also announced plans to upgrade Mumbai's Transmission and Distribution network by 2031.

Strategic Growth and Partnerships:
The company is deepening its commitments toward grid flexibility and cross-border partnerships. Uttar Pradesh Electricity Regulatory Commission (UPERC) cleared the 511 MW long-term purchase from the Khorlochhu project in Bhutan by UPPCL, with Tata Power and Bhutan's Druk Green Power Corporation having signed an MoU for the Nyera Amari I & II Integrated Hydropower Project.

Tata Power also continues to lead in clean mobility adoption. Its EZ Charge network now extends over 2.4 lakh home chargers, 5,900+ public charging points, and 1,200+ e-bus charging points across 717 cities and towns, with over 6 lakh registered users.

Segment Performance:
The T&D business reported a PAT of ₹ 492 crore and EBITDA of ₹ 1,541 crore in Q1 FY27, reflecting a growth of 11% and 14% year-on-year. The Odisha DISCOMs generated a PAT of ₹ 111 crore, up 6% YoY.

TATAPOWER Stock Price Movement​

Tata Power Company Limited saw its stock gain today, closing the session at ₹377.35 after edging up 1.23% from the prior close. The equity traded a total of 2.37 million shares during the day.
