Suzlon Secures 100 MW Wind Energy Project from GAIL, Expands PSU Portfolio in FY26​

Project to Support GAIL’s Petrochemical Plant in Maharashtra​

New Delhi, March 24: Suzlon Group on Tuesday announced that it has secured a 100 MW wind energy project from Gas Authority of India Ltd (GAIL), marking another significant addition to its order book in the public sector segment.

The power generated from the project will be used to support the decarbonization of GAIL’s upcoming petrochemical plant located in Nandurbar, Maharashtra.

Fourth PSU Order for Suzlon in FY26​

This order represents Suzlon’s fourth project win from a Public Sector Undertaking in the financial year 2025 to 2026, underlining its growing presence and execution strength in the PSU segment.

According to the company, this is also its sixth 100 MW wind energy project order from GAIL, reflecting a long-standing partnership between the two entities.

Scope of Work and Technology Deployment​

As part of the project, Suzlon will install 47 wind turbine generators of the S120 model, each with a rated capacity of 2.1 MW.

The company’s scope includes supply of turbines, equipment installation, and full project execution covering erection and commissioning. Suzlon will also provide comprehensive operations and maintenance services after the project is commissioned.

Strong Presence in Maharashtra’s Renewable Energy Sector​

Suzlon highlighted its established footprint in Maharashtra, where it has installed over 2.2 GW of wind energy capacity and holds a 38 percent market share.

The company has contributed significantly to positioning the state as a key renewable energy hub in India.

Leadership Commentary and Global Footprint​

Ajay Kapur, Chief Executive Officer of Suzlon Group, stated that the company is pleased to continue its partnership with GAIL, which has spanned over 15 years, with this being their sixth order together.
