
Supreme Court stays deposit order regarding MSEDCL assessment for Kalpataru subsidiary
Kalpataru Ltd.'s wholly owned subsidiary, Kalpataru Retail Ventures Ltd. (KRVL), has successfully secured a stay of the High Court's direction regarding an amount assessed by Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Ltd. (MSEDCL). The intervention came from the Hon'ble Supreme Court in response to a Special Leave Petition filed by KRVL.The Supreme Court reviewed the matter and issued an interim Order that stayed the requirement for KRVL to deposit 50% of the amount assessed by MSEDCL. Furthermore, the Court directed the High Court to consider the interim relief requested in the Writ Petition. The Supreme Court also ordered that no adverse action shall be taken against KRVL until such consideration is completed.
