State Bank of India Approves Long-Term Fund Raising Programme for FY 2026-27​

The State Bank of India announced that its Executive Committee of the Central Board held a meeting on May 12, 2026. During the session, the committee approved the framework for a long-term fund raising program for the Financial Year 2026-27.

The approved resolution mandates the examination of the bank's status and decision-making regarding long-term capital infusion. This fund raising is authorized to occur in single or multiple tranches, with a maximum potential size of US$ 2 Billion (US$ Two Billion).

The fund raising program will be conducted under Reg-S/144A. State Bank of India plans to raise capital through a combination of a public offer and/or private placement of bonds. These bonds can be either fixed or floating rate, denominated in US Dollars or any other major foreign currency. The entire program is scheduled to take place during the Financial Year 2026-27.

State Bank of India shares today slipped by 0.09% to settle at ₹972.70. Trading for the financial giant saw a volume of 19.02 million shares processed, indicating the day's momentum.
