Smt. Srividya Venkataraman has been appointed as the Director - Finance of Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL). The appointment, which is effective immediately, comes following confirmation by the Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas and signifies a change in the company's board structure.

Effective from June 24, 2026, Smt. Venkataraman has assumed the charge as Director - Finance at HPCL. Her tenure for this position is set for five years from her assumption date, or until her superannuation, or until further orders are issued, whichever occurs earliest.

The appointment of Smt. Venkataraman concludes the additional charge of Director - Finance previously held by Shri K S Shetty, who is a Director in Human Resources at HPCL.

Extensive Financial Background of Srividya Venkataraman​

Smt. Srividya Venkataraman brings over three decades of experience to the role, having established herself as a distinguished finance professional within the Indian energy sector. As a Chartered Accountant and Cost & Works Accountant, she possesses extensive expertise across various domains including treasury management, risk management, investor relations, capital markets, and business finance.

Prior to joining HPCL, Smt. Venkataraman served as Executive Director - Corporate Treasury at Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL). In this capacity, her responsibilities included overseeing Treasury, Insurance, Investor Relations, Pension Fund Investments, Pricing, and Taxation. Under her leadership, BPCL successfully mobilized project finance exceeding ₹30,000 crore for strategic growth initiatives, significantly strengthening its financial footing through innovative treasury and capital management measures.

Throughout her career at BPCL, she held several key senior assignments across the Treasury, Retail, and LPG businesses. As Finance Head of the Retail Business, she contributed to business growth, network expansion, digital transformation, cost optimization, and governance enhancement. In the LPG business, she played a vital role in implementing flagship Government initiatives such as the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) scheme and the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana (PMUY), facilitating efficient subsidy transfers and expanding access to clean cooking fuel across the country.

Ms. Srividya has also been instrumental in major financial endeavors at BPCL, including international bond issuance, large-scale external commercial borrowings, strategic investment planning, insurance optimization, and strengthening investor engagement. She has also led the implementation of digital finance solutions that improved operational efficiency, transparency, and governance across various functions.

Her corporate service extends beyond BPCL, as she has served on the Boards of Kannur International Airport Limited, BPCL KIAL Fuel Farm Facilities Pvt. Limited, and FFPL Finserv Private Limited, contributing to strategic oversight and corporate governance in these ventures.
