
Solex Energy Hosts Ghanaian High Commissioner to Advance Renewable Energy Collaboration
Surat: Solex Energy Limited welcomed H.E. Prof. Kwasi Obiri-Danso, High Commissioner of Ghana to India, and a delegation from Ghana to its corporate headquarters in Surat. The visit centered on strategic discussions aimed at accelerating clean energy adoption and strengthening bilateral cooperation within the solar sector between India and Ghana.The meeting underscored the growing focus among emerging economies on renewable energy generation to achieve energy security and meet global climate commitments. As part of these discussions, Solex Energy proposed partnering with Ghana to establish a phase-wise end-to-end solar manufacturing ecosystem. This partnership would encompass local production of renewable energy components, technology transfer, and capacity building in the country.
Solex also emphasized the critical role of indigenous talent development. The company intends to implement skill development and technical training programs designed to create a sustainable renewable energy workforce in Ghana. Furthermore, Solex expressed its commitment to collaborating with the International Solar Alliance (ISA) to support Ghana's clean energy transition, contributing towards global climate and energy access goals.
Solex Energy continues to reinforce India's position as a global clean energy manufacturing hub. The company currently operates with a manufacturing capacity of 4 GW. Under its Vision 2030 roadmap, Solex has set ambitious targets to expand this infrastructure to include 10 GW of solar module manufacturing and 10 GW of solar cell manufacturing capacity.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Chetan Shah, Chairman and Managing Director of Solex Energy Limited, stated that the company was honored by the visit. He remarked that the discussions reflected not only the immense renewable energy potential held by Ghana but also a shared conviction that international partnerships are key to shaping the next phase of the global energy transition.
The engagement highlights Solex Energy's commitment to building strategic international alliances and expanding its footprint in high-growth renewable markets. The company, which has been active in solar manufacturing since 1995, provides comprehensive EPC solutions and delivers high efficiency PV modules, maintaining a production capacity of 4 GW at its facility in Tadkeshwar, Gujarat.
