Smarten Power Systems, an Indian power backup and solar energy solutions provider catering to residential and commercial users, has announced the appointment of Mr. Ranjit Singh as its Chief Operating Officer (COO). The appointment is effective from August 1, 2026, following approval by the company's Board of Directors on July 14, 2026.

In his role as COO, Mr. Singh will lead end-to-end operations, manufacturing excellence, supply chain management, quality systems, and strategic execution. His primary mandate includes driving operational efficiencies to support the expansion of Smarten’s presence in both domestic and international markets.

Prior to this appointment, Mr. Singh served as Consultant - Vice President, Operations at Smarten Power Systems. During his tenure in that role, he was instrumental in strengthening operational processes and enhancing manufacturing efficiencies. Notably, he steered the successful transition of the company’s in-house battery manufacturing facility in Baddi, Himachal Pradesh, a strategic initiative following the company's IPO.

With the completion of that transition, Mr. Singh is positioned to oversee operations across all existing manufacturing plants while spearheading the operationalization of upcoming manufacturing facilities. His appointment comes as Smarten seeks to strengthen its manufacturing capabilities and expand its product portfolio to meet growing demand for reliable power backup and renewable energy solutions.

Rajnish Sharma, Whole Time Director and Chief Executive Officer of Smarten, stated that leadership is key to scaling operations and delivering long-term value. He noted that Mr. Singh brings deep operational expertise, extensive manufacturing experience, and a proven track record of building high-performing operations. Sharma expressed confidence that the new leadership will further strengthen operational excellence and support the company's strategic ambitions.

Mr. Ranjit Singh expressed his appreciation for the responsibility at this stage of the company's growth. He stated that his focus will be on strengthening manufacturing excellence, streamlining operations, enhancing quality systems, improving supply chain agility, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement to drive innovation and customer value.

Mr. Singh is a distinguished engineering professional with more than 52 years of experience in manufacturing, engineering, product development, and operations across the power electronics, telecom power, and renewable energy sectors. Before joining Smarten Power Systems, he held leadership positions at various organizations including Vrinda Nano Technologies, Agmetal India, Delta Power Solutions India, Ascom (India), Benning SMC Power Systems, Bhurji Electronics, JCT Electronics, UPTRON Powertronics, USHA Rectifier Corporation India, and Eastern Electronics.

Smarten Power Systems designs, assembles, and supplies power backup and solar energy solutions, including home UPS systems, solar inverters, solar power conditioning units, and solar charge controllers. The company operates across 23 states and 2 union territories in India and has an international presence in more than 17 countries across the Middle East, Africa, and South Asia.
