Shyam Metalics Commissions Aluminium Foil Facility in Odisha; Unjha Formulations Sets AGM Dates
SMEL Steel Structural Pvt. Ltd., a stepdown subsidiary of Shyam Metalics and Energy Limited, has announced the commencement of commercial production at its new Aluminium Foil facility located in Sambalpur, Odisha. This strategic move marks a major step in SMEL’s product diversification strategy into value-added aluminium products.The facility boasts an installed operational capacity of 18,000 tonnes per annum (TPA) and is equipped to manufacture premium-grade foils spanning the thickness range of 6 to 40 microns. This investment contributes to the overall Rs 800 crore planned for the Aluminium facilities in Sambalpur.
Strengthening its commitment to value-added downstream products, SMEL has also confirmed that its Aluminium Flat Rolled Products (FRP) facility is nearing completion and is scheduled for a commercial launch by September 2026. The FRP section is designed with an installed capacity of 60,000 TPA, covering a thickness range from 0.3 to 4.0 mm.
