Ltd., a step-down subsidiary of Shyam Metalics and Energy Limited, has announced that its aluminum manufacturing project in Sambalpur, Odisha, is nearing commercial production. The launch marks a substantial expansion for the Group into value-added aluminum products, reinforcing its commitment to strengthening India's domestic metal capabilities.

The new facility is designed to significantly boost Shyam Metalics' product diversification, targeting high-quality, value-added materials across various industries.

The Sambalpur unit is equipped to manufacture two primary categories of aluminum products:

Financial and Operational Impact​

The commissioning of the Sambalpur unit is anticipated to materially improve the Company's financial and operational profile. Shyam Metalics forecasts that the improved product mix and enhanced efficiencies will lead to an increase in operating margins by approximately 40-50%.

The new facility is also projected to contribute significantly to revenue growth. Over the medium term, the topline is expected to rise by 2x to 2.5x, supported by expanded market reach and higher realization products.

The move helps the company reduce dependence on imports while contributing to the national manufacturing ecosystem.

Shyam Metalics and Energy Limited is an integrated metal-producing company operating across West Bengal, Odisha, Jharkhand, and Madhya Pradesh. The company specializes in Long & Flat Steel Products, Ferro Alloys, Aluminium, and Stainless Steel. The company, which listed in 2021, currently holds a market capitalization exceeding ₹ 22,000 Cr.

The company, spearheaded by Mr. B. Bhushan Agarwal, is noted as one of the largest producers of ferro alloys by installed capacity in India and is also a leading player in terms of pellet capacity. As of the date of reporting, the aggregate installed metal capacity of its manufacturing plants stands at 16.78 MTPA (comprising intermediate and final products), supported by 467 MW of captive power plant capacity.
