SBI Funds Management IPO Countdown: Company Poised for Listing as it Prepares Price Band Announcement
Industry sources indicate that SBI Funds Management, India's largest asset management company, is expected to file its final Red Herring Prospectus and announce the IPO price band during the first week of July. This potential listing marks a significant step in the firm’s history and could make it one of the few major AMC subsidiaries available for trading. The IPO process gained momentum after SBI Funds Management filed its Draft Red Herring Prospectus (DRHP) with regulators on March 19, 2026. The planned issue will exclusively comprise an offer-for-sale (OFS) component, amounting to 20.37 crore equity shares, representing a 10 percent stake in the company.
Structure of the IPO and Stake Dilution
The offering involves existing promoters offloading their stakes. State Bank of India (SBI), which holds a substantial 61.76 percent stake in SBI Funds Management, is set to sell 12.83 crore shares, amounting to a 6.3 percent stake. Paris-based Amundi India Holding will also participate by selling 7.53 crore shares, or 3.7 percent of the total company. The listing is expected to see SBI Funds Management join the ranks of several other financial giants. If the plans materialize, this offering would be the third subsidiary of State Bank of India (SBI) to list on exchanges. It could subsequently make the firm one of six asset management companies available for public trading.
