Management Commentary on Business Performance

Mr. Rushil Thakkar, Managing Director, commented that the Q1 FY27 results reflected steady business performance, supported by normalized operations at the Andhra Pradesh MDF facility and improved contributions from the Laminates business.

The company navigated challenging operating conditions, which included elevated chemicals and other raw material prices, higher freight costs, and shipping route disruptions stemming from ongoing conflict in West Asia. Despite these factors, the Laminates division saw a significant increase in export revenues due to increasing acceptance of Jumbo Laminates internationally and an improved product mix.

In terms of market strengthening, Rushil Decor Limited expanded its international presence by entering two new export markets: Honduras and Greece. The company also strengthened its domestic distribution network by adding 15 direct distributors and 46 retailers or dealers during the quarter.

Looking ahead, management stated a continued focus on improving capacity utilization within the Jumbo Laminates business and increasing the share of value added MDF products. The company remains focused on optimizing the overall business through an improved product mix, alongside working capital improvement and debt reduction, with no major capital expenditure planned beyond maintenance capex.
