
Restaurant Brands Asia Reports Strong Q1 FY27 Results Amid Inspira Global Investment
Mumbai, August 3, 2026: Restaurant Brands Asia Limited (RBA), a prominent quick-service restaurant operator, announced its unaudited financial results for the first quarter of fiscal year 2027 (Q1 FY27). The company reported significant growth across both consolidated and standalone operations.The Q1 performance showed strong momentum, with RBA's total revenue from operations reaching ₹8,226 million, marking a 17.9% increase year-on-year. Consolidated EBITDA (Pre-Ind AS 116) stood at ₹435 million, a substantial increase of 265.7%, compared to ₹119 million in the previous year's corresponding quarter.
Standalone Performance and Expansion
On a standalone basis, Burger King India demonstrated accelerated growth. The restaurant’s Same-Store Sales Growth (SSSG) reached 12.6%, marking the highest figure recorded over the last 15 quarters. Revenue from operations for the brand grew by 23.6% year-on-year, reaching ₹6,829 million.
The company's operating profitability improved significantly:
- Restaurant EBITDA (Pre-Ind AS 116) increased 68.1% YoY to ₹900 million, with the margin growing from 9.7% to 13.2%.
- Company EBITDA (Pre-Ind AS 116) rose 133.6% YoY to ₹527 million, and its corresponding margin expanded from 4.1% to 7.7%.
In terms of network expansion, the company’s total store count reached 752 restaurants as of Q1 FY27, including the addition of nine stores in India since March 31, 2026.
Strategic Investment and Stake Acquisition
Inspira Global, which owns the Chinese Wok quick-service brand, has completed the acquisition of a controlling 42% stake in Restaurant Brands Asia Limited. As part of this strategic transaction, Inspira Global infused ₹1,050 crore through the issuance of fresh equity shares and warrants.
The agreement further stipulates that upon exercising these warrants, Inspira Global will inject an additional capital infusion totaling ₹450 crore, at which point their shareholding in RBA is set to rise to 48%.
This infusion aims to strengthen RBA's balance sheet and provide the company with financial flexibility necessary for future expansion, brand building initiatives, restaurant development, digital capabilities, and long-term growth plans.
