Inspira Global Completes Acquisition of Restaurant Brands Asia, Pledging Long-Term Growth for Burger King Operator​

Mumbai, July 7, 2026: Restaurant Brands Asia Limited (RBA), the operator of Burger King® in India and Burger King® and Popeyes® in Indonesia, today announced the successful completion of a significant transaction. Inspira Global, through its food and beverage platform Lenexis Foodworks Private Limited, has acquired control of RBA.

The acquisition marks the conclusion of the mandatory open offer and the fulfillment of customary closing conditions for the quick-service restaurant segment in India. With a total investment amounting to approximately INR 2235 crores, the transaction is noted as one of the largest investments in this sector.

Following the completion of the acquisition, Inspira Global holds a 41.78% stake in RBA. The company's structure and operations will be strengthened by future capital infusion. Upon exercising all outstanding warrants, Inspira Global’s aggregate shareholding is projected to rise to 48.04%, following the infusing of INR 450 Cr into the company.

The board of RBA has approved key leadership appointments, naming Mr. Madhusudan Agrawal as Chairman and Mr. Aayush Agrawal as non-executive director.

Operational Status and Brand Foundation​

RBA continues to operate the Burger King® and Popeyes® brands in India under its established master franchise agreement with Restaurant Brands International Inc. Additionally, RBA's subsidiaries hold exclusive national master franchisee rights for Burger King® and Popeyes® in Indonesia. These agreements have recently been extended through 2050, reinforcing long-term visibility for the business across both markets.

The company remains committed to expanding its restaurant network, enhancing customer experience, investing in technology and digital capabilities, and strengthening operational excellence to create sustainable value for all stakeholders.
