PVR INOX Reports Strong Start with Revenue Growth and Net Cash Positive Status for Q1 FY'27​

PVR Inox Limited today announced its unaudited financial results for the quarter ended June 30, 2026. The company reported a significant rise in EBITDA and achieved a net cash positive position as of June 30, 2026, following strong performance across operational metrics.

The Q1 FY'27 results reflected robust growth, with PVR INOX recording Revenue of INR 16,423 mn, marking a 12% increase year-on-year (YoY). EBITDA surged by 90% YoY to INR 2,296 mn. The company also reported PAT of INR 705 mn, turning the deficit recorded in Q1 FY'26 (INR 335 mn) into a profit.

Operational metrics demonstrated strength across the cinema network. Admissions reached 36.6 mn, which translates to an 8% YoY growth. The Average Ticket Price (ATP) stood at INR 273, also reflecting an 8% YoY increase. Furthermore, the Average Food & Beverage Spend per Head (SPH) was INR 161, showing a 9% rise over the previous year. These operational improvements resulted in a 16% increase in ticket sales and a 17% rise in Food & Beverage sales compared to the prior year period.

The company's financial health improved substantially as it achieved a net cash positive position during the quarter, with Net Cash standing at INR 807 mn as of June 30, 2026. This liquidity positions the company for capital-light growth funded through internal accruals. PVR INOX currently operates 1,779 screens across 113 cities in India and Sri Lanka.

The company stated that the success across languages contributed to its positive outlook. Hindi cinema titles and regional content drove outperformance, while Hollywood saw successes from non-franchise titles such as Project Hail Mary, Michael, and Obsession. The slate for the remainder of FY'27 remains encouraging, featuring anticipated releases in both Hindi and regional cinemas, alongside major Hollywood projects including Spider-Man: Brand New Day and Avengers: Doomsday.

Commenting on the results, company leadership noted that the performance reflects the structural strength built over the last three years. With a diverse content slate and an asset-light expansion model, PVR INOX is focused on consumer delight and creating value for its shareholders while remaining on track to open 90-100 new screens during FY'27.
