The Prime Minister of India is set to embark on a significant international tour, encompassing strategic engagements with France, a historic state visit to Slovakia, and participation in the G7 Summit. The series of visits, scheduled from June 13 to June 18, 2026, underscores India’s deepening global commitments across technology, bilateral trade, and multilateral forums.

The trip follows previous high-level interactions with French President Emmanuel Macron, who elevated the relationship between India and France to a Special Global Strategic Partnership earlier this year. The Prime Minister looks forward to reviewing mutual cooperation achievements and charting future steps during the meeting in Nice.

Showcasing Innovation at 'Bharat Innovates' and VivaTech 2026

A key highlight of the French leg of the journey is the inauguration of 'Bharat Innovates' on June 14, 2026, which will be held alongside President Macron. This landmark event is set against the backdrop of the India-France Year of Innovation.

The initiative aims to connect promising Indian start-ups with global investment opportunities. It is designed to serve as a crucial accelerator for innovations emerging from India's higher education ecosystem. Furthermore, the Prime Minister will conclude the visit in Paris on June 18, 2026, attending VivaTech 2026 alongside President Macron.

India will feature the largest national pavilion at this major European technology gathering. This is intended to symbolize the enormous potential for partnership between Indian and European innovation ecosystems. The Prime Minister also expressed eagerness to meet members of the Indian community in Paris who act as a bridge between both nations.

Historic State Visit to Slovakia and EU Engagement

From Nice, the Prime Minister will travel to the Slovak Republic for a State Visit spanning June 14-15, 2026. This is noted as the first ever visit by an Indian Prime Minister since Slovakia achieved independence in 1993.

The trip builds upon strong momentum in the bilateral relationship between India and Slovakia. Discussions are scheduled with President Pellegrini and Prime Minister Fico in Bratislava. The Prime Minister will also have opportunities to interact with Slovak business leaders during this visit.

This engagement is seen as a further energizing step in the Strategic Partnership with the European Union, which benefits from the momentum of the existing India-EU Free Trade Agreement.

Global South Voice at G7 Summit

Following the State Visit, the itinerary includes travel to Evian for participation in the G7 Summit on June 16 and 17, 2026. The invitation reflects the trust placed in India and its growing global profile.

At the G7 Summit, India is expected not only to represent its own interests but also to provide a voice to the aspirations of the Global South. This marks the eighth consecutive time that India has been invited to attend the G7 meeting.

The Prime Minister stated confidence that the visits across France and Slovakia will reinforce India's deepening engagement with both Europe and the G7, solidifying the commitment to expanding partnerships with the continent and beyond.
