
President's Approval Granted for Merger of REC Limited into Power Finance Corporation
The proposed merger of REC Limited into Power Finance Corporation (PFC) has received Presidential approval, as conveyed by the Ministry of Power.The government undertaking, Power Finance Corporation Limited, announced that the proposal had received clearance from the Hon'ble President of India concerning the planned merger.
This development follows earlier actions taken by PFC. Previously, the Company’s Board of Directors had decided to reserve the proposal for the merger of REC Limited into PFC for approval by the Hon'ble President of India, a decision that was made on May 16, 2026.
The Ministry of Power officially conveyed the approval of the President of India regarding this aforesaid merger proposal through its letter dated June 10, 2026.

Power Finance Corporation Limited shares today slipped by 1.16% to settle at ₹431.3, closing in the red after trading saw a sharp drop.
