The improved profitability was attributed to the expansion of operating leverage and an enhanced product mix across the company’s offerings.

Operational and Financial Highlights​

In addition to the financial performance, PGIL reported several operational milestones for the quarter:

  • Shipments: The company shipped 20.8 million pieces in Q1FY27, which is the highest ever recorded in the first quarter series, up from 17.2 million pieces in Q1FY26.
  • Dividend Income: PGIL (Holding Company) received a total dividend of approximately INR 5 crore in Q1FY27 from Pearl Global (HK) Limited, reflecting fungibility across group entities.

Management Commentary on Q1FY27 Results​

Dr. Deepak Kumar Seth, Chairman and Non-Executive Director, commented that the strong start reflects the strength of the diversified manufacturing platform, customer trust, and disciplined execution teams. He emphasized that while the global environment involves shifts in trade dynamics and geopolitical developments, the company’s commitment to responsible growth remains unwavering.

Mr. Pulkit Seth, Vice-Chairman and Non-Executive Director, noted that the quarter delivered the best performance in Pearl Global's history. He highlighted achieving the highest ever quarterly revenue of INR 1,528 crore and a record EBITDA margin of 10.7%. Mr. Seth stated that PGIL’s presence across India, Bangladesh, Vietnam, Indonesia, and Guatemala positions the company well to capitalize on global trends in sourcing diversification, especially amid developments like the India-UK FTA and progress towards the India-EU FTA.

Mr. Pallab Banerjee, Managing Director, attributed the results to strong operational execution and broad-based revenue growth. He noted that the EBITDA margin improvement was driven by manufacturing efficiencies and operating leverage, despite uncertainties caused by global events. Mr. Banerjee also announced that capacity expansion initiatives in Bangladesh and laundry operations are scheduled for inauguration in September, which are expected to add approximately 7 million pieces of annual capacity, raising the Group's total installed capacity to roughly 108 million pieces.
