Wins Package 1 Contract from Himachal Pradesh Power Corporation​

New Delhi, February 23: Patel Engineering Ltd has been declared the lowest bidder by Himachal Pradesh Power Corporation Ltd for the development of Package 1 of the Renuka Ji Dam project in Himachal Pradesh. The contract is valued at ₹910.08 crore, including GST.

The project is located in the village of Dadahu in the Sirmaur district of the state. According to the company, the construction work is scheduled to be completed within 30 months.

Scope of Work: Construction of Three Major Diversion Tunnels​

Under Package 1, Patel Engineering will undertake the construction of three diversion tunnels. Each tunnel will have a diameter of 9.5 meters.

The lengths of the tunnels are:

  • 1,379 meters
  • 1,468 meters
  • 1,590 meters
The development of these diversion tunnels forms a critical component of the Renuka Ji Dam project’s infrastructure.

Strategic Boost to Sustainable Water and Hydropower Infrastructure​

Kavita Shirvairkar, Managing Director of Patel Engineering, stated that the project strengthens the company’s portfolio and enables it to contribute meaningfully to sustainable water management and hydropower development.

She further emphasized that the Renuka Ji Dam project is crucial for enhancing water storage capacity, ensuring reliable water supply, and supporting hydropower generation in the region.

Strong Track Record in Dams and Hydroelectric Projects​

Mumbai-based Patel Engineering has a significant presence in the water and hydro infrastructure segment. The company has executed:

  • Over 85 dam projects
  • 40 hydroelectric projects
  • More than 300 kilometers of tunnelling
These projects have been carried out for central public sector undertakings and state government organisations in India and overseas.

With the Renuka Ji Dam Package 1 contract, Patel Engineering further consolidates its position in India’s hydropower and water infrastructure development space.
