Ornge Achieves Paperless Maintenance Operations Through Implementation of Ramco's Digital Task Card and Mobile Apps
Enterprise aviation software provider Ramco Systems Canada Inc., a subsidiary of Ramco Systems Limited, announced that its customer, Ornge, has successfully transitioned to a paperless workflow across all its maintenance bases. The rollout involves Ramco's Digital Task Card with eSign-off and the Mechanic Anywhere Mobile Application for Ornge's AW-139 and PC-12 fleets. The implementation marks a major milestone in Ornge's digital transformation, replacing paper-based task cards with a fully mobile-enabled process for maintenance execution. Ramco's eSign-off solution is specifically designed to meet Transport Canada's sign-off compliance requirements, allowing technicians to digitally execute and sign off maintenance tasks in real time.
Work Summary Reports have been introduced as part of the implementation, designed to support Ornge's regulatory compliance and audit needs. With the use of Mechanic Anywhere, Ornge's technicians gain the ability to access necessary documentation, complete maintenance tasks, and execute digital sign-offs regardless of their location, thereby eliminating inefficiencies associated with traditional paper-based processes.
The move to the Digital Task Card with eSign-off has provided Ornge's maintenance and quality teams with near real-time visibility into the status of tasks, including work progress and sign-off status, which enhances compliance through standardized work-step execution.
Robert Zwanenburg, Technical Services Manager at Ornge, stated that the Ramco solution is instrumental in their efforts to ensure timely maintenance turnaround times, supplementing the benefit of going paperless. "We are working as a team to ensure our front-line maintenance crews (AMEs) have the tools they need wherever they're working," Zwanenburg noted.
Manoj Kumar Singh, Chief Customer Officer for Aviation, Aerospace & Defense at Ramco Systems, highlighted that Ornge's achievement exemplifies the industry shift toward a mobile-first, paperless future in aviation maintenance. He added that the successful deployment reflects years of investment in AI-powered tools tailored for the high-precision, mission-critical nature of maintenance execution.
