Ramco Systems, a global enterprise software company specializing in next-generation cloud applications, has appointed Sandesh Bilagi as its new Chief Executive Officer (CEO). The appointment positions the company to accelerate its transition into an AI-native enterprise software provider and focus on sustained global expansion.Sandesh Bilagi assumes the role after leading operations as President & Chief Operating Officer. In his previous capacity, he was instrumental in steering the operational turnaround of Ramco Systems, achieving sustained profitability for six consecutive quarters through FY2026. As CEO, Bilagi will spearhead Ramco's global growth agenda and execute the strategy to become an AI-native enterprise software company.
With over two decades of experience across enterprise technology, Sandesh has developed a strong background in sales, delivery, and operations. He founded Ramco's Australia & New Zealand business, which is currently recognized as one of the company’s strongest segments, having been bolstered by significant customer acquisitions and product footprint development. His leadership tenure included guiding the organization through two management transitions and stabilizing the business during the operational disruptions of the COVID-19 period.
Prior to Ramco, Bilagi held senior positions at HCL Technologies and Tech Mahindra. His experience includes driving strategic growth, establishing offshore development centers, and securing landmark engagements, which included deals exceeding USD 550 million with leading Australian corporations.
Commenting on the transition, P.R. Venketrama Raja, Chairman of Ramco Systems, stated that the six straight quarters of operational profit demonstrate a genuine turnaround, rather than a temporary correction. He noted that Sandesh has been pivotal to this journey, and the Board is confident that his appointment will transform this stability into sustained, profitable global growth for Ramco.
P.V. Abinav Ramasubramaniam Raja, Managing Director of Ramco Systems, added that Sandesh successfully combined a "builder's instinct with an operator's rigour." As the company moves into its next phase, priorities include accelerating global expansion and embedding Artificial Intelligence (AI) into the core of both products and business processes.
Sandesh Bilagi outlined his strategic focus upon assuming the CEO role. He stated that while restoring profitability was a critical initial task, the current goal is to convert this strength into scaled growth. His leadership will focus on two main areas: first, achieving global growth by deepening presence in established markets across HR & Global Payroll, Aviation, ERP, Logistics, and Chia product lines; and second, transforming Ramco into a truly AI-native company. This transformation involves rebuilding design and operations around AI so that customers experience measurably better outcomes.
