NMDC Limited has appointed Shri Vivek Nishant Nath as Director (Commercial), effective July 15, 2026. The appointment is for a period of five years from his assumption of charge or until earlier orders are issued.Shri Nath joins NMDC with significant experience in the mining and metals industry, holding over three decades of expertise across sales, marketing, international commercial operations, procurement, logistics, and supply chain management. Experience and Professional Credentials
Shri Nath's professional journey includes nearly fifteen years at NMDC, where he gained substantial experience in domestic iron ore sales and marketing. His subsequent roles include key positions with Essar Steel Limited and ArcelorMittal Nippon Steel India before transitioning to Odisha Mining Corporation Limited (OMC).In 2021, Shri Nath joined OMC as General Manager (Sales & Marketing), and was promoted to Chief General Manager (Sales & Marketing) in 2024. During his tenure at OMC, he led sales and marketing functions covering iron ore, chrome ore, manganese ore, bauxite, limestone, and ferrochrome. Under his leadership, OMC significantly expanded its iron ore sales, which grew from 12.33 million tonnes in FY 2020-21 to 38.26 million tonnes in FY 2025-26.
Shri Nath is recognized as an industry expert and has authored more than 11 research papers focusing on mining and metals sector issues. His educational qualifications include an MBA in International Business from Symbiosis Centre for Management Studies, Pune, and a Management Development Programme from the Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Indore.
