NLC India Renowables and OREDA Form Joint Venture to Develop 1000 MW Green Energy Projects in Odisha​

NLC India Renewables Limited (NIRL), a subsidiary of NLC India Limited, has signed a Joint Venture Agreement (JVA) with OREDA Ltd. The partnership aims at the establishment, operation, and maintenance of 1000 MW of green energy projects in the state of Odisha, marking a significant step towards strengthening India's clean energy transition.

The JV was formalized on June 23, 2026, in Odisha. Key signatories included Shri Devendra Pratap Singh, Chief Executive Officer of NIRL, and Shri Saidutta Biplab Keshari Pradhan, CEO OREDA and Special Secretary, Department of Energy, Government of Odisha. The agreement encompasses the development of various objectives and assets within the green energy sector in the state of Odisha.

NIRL is a Wholly Owned Subsidiary (WoS) of NLC India Limited, a Navratna Central Public Sector Enterprise that operates under the administrative control of the Ministry of Coal, Government of India.

The strategic collaboration between NIRL and OREDA is poised to play a major role in enhancing India’s clean energy ecosystem. As part of its expansion into large-scale renewable and green energy initiatives, NLC India Limited has exposure across multiple technologies including solar, wind, pumped hydro storage, Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), green hydrogen, low-carbon round-the-clock power, and waste-to-energy projects.

Shri Prasanna Kumar Motupalli, Chairman and Managing Director of NLCIL, stated that the partnership with OREDA is a key milestone in NLCIL's strategic diversification into clean and sustainable energy sectors. He emphasized the ongoing development of renewable energy using diverse technologies such as Solar, Wind, Hybrid, Battery Energy Storage System, Pumped Hydro Storage, and Green Hydrogen.

The joint venture reflects both organizations’ shared commitment to sustainable development and technological advancement through reliable green energy solutions in Odisha.

NLCINDIA Stock Price Movement​

Shares of NLC India Limited today shed 0.99% in post-market trading to settle at ₹325.25, finishing down following a session that saw significant activity. The stock traded within a range defined by a low of ₹323.9 and managed substantial volume totaling 2.55 million shares.
