
New India Assurance Reports 61% Jump in PAT for Q4 FY26, Highlights Market Share Gains
The New India Assurance Company Limited, a Government of India undertaking, announced the audited financial results for the quarter and financial year ended March 31, 2026. Management noted that the company's Gross Written Premium grew by 8.2% during the year, enhancing its market share from 12.56% to 12.74% during the period.In a positive development, the profit after tax (PAT) improved by 40% for the financial year 2025-2026 and recorded an impressive 61% increase for the fourth quarter.
During the year, the company absorbed the full impact of wage revisions and family pension revisions, amounting to Rs 3,525 Crore. The entire impact of the revision in family pension, from 15% to 30%, amounted to Rs 597 Crore and was absorbed during the fourth quarter.

The company’s combined ratio for the year, when adjusted for the wage revision-related impact, stood at 116.67%, compared to 115.34% in the previous year. The solvency ratio was reported at a healthy 1.84>.However, the incurred claim ratio saw some adverse impact due to the higher loss ratio observed in the Motor Third Party segment, where a long-awaited premium revision has yet to take place. Furthermore, a loss in the aviation segment also contributed to the higher incurred claim ratio in the current year compared to the previous year.
