State-owned NBCC is exploring the possibility of undertaking a major infrastructure development project in Seychelles, including housing and allied facilities, on a 139-acre island.

High-Level Delegation Visits NBCC Headquarters

According to a company statement issued on Monday, Vice-President of the Republic of Seychelles Sebastien Pillay visited NBCC’s headquarters in New Delhi, leading a high-level delegation.

The visiting delegation held detailed discussions with NBCC Chairman and Managing Director K P Mahadevaswamy and other senior officials regarding potential projects in Seychelles.

During the meeting, NBCC made comprehensive presentations outlining proposed infrastructure development across approximately 139 acres of the island.

Proposed Development to Include Housing and Social Infrastructure

The proposed project envisions a multi-faceted development plan comprising:

  • Affordable social housing
  • Leisure and hospitality facilities
  • Premium villas
  • A sports arena
  • Other social infrastructure
The discussions reflect Seychelles’ interest in leveraging NBCC’s project management and construction capabilities for large-scale infrastructure expansion.

NBCC Showcases International Experience

The delegation was also briefed on NBCC’s international execution capabilities, including the successful completion of the 2000 Social Housing Project in Hulhumale, Maldives.

Earlier in January, NBCC CMD K P Mahadevaswamy visited Seychelles as part of ongoing engagement efforts.

Ongoing Projects in Seychelles

NBCC is currently executing the construction of the Indian Chancery Building in Seychelles, along with a Cultural Centre and Residential Units.

The company operates in project management consultancy and real estate development, with both domestic and international assignments.

The proposed 139-acre island infrastructure project marks a potential expansion of NBCC’s footprint in Seychelles, reinforcing its overseas development portfolio.
