India Emerging as a “Reliable Partner” in Global Supply Chains, Says Delhi LG

New Delhi, March 23, 2026 – Delhi Lieutenant Governor Taranjit Singh Sandhu on Monday said that India has emerged as a reliable partner in global supply chains and innovation ecosystems.

Addressing the 26th edition of IndiaSoft at Bharat Mandapam on the theme “Business Beyond Boundaries”, Sandhu emphasized that India is evolving from being a participant in globalization to becoming a “shaper” of global business trends.

“The idea of 'Business Beyond Boundaries' is not about ignoring constraints such as regulatory frameworks, data governance, supply chain vulnerabilities, and geopolitical considerations. It is about understanding them, navigating them, and, where possible, aligning across them,” Sandhu said.
He highlighted that recent global disruptions, including the COVID-19 pandemic, exposed the fragility of centralized supply chains, driving the need for resilience and diversification.

Sandhu also stressed the critical role of technology, noting that digital platforms allow businesses to transcend traditional barriers while raising responsibilities around data protection and cybersecurity.

The Lieutenant Governor underlined the growing contribution of MSMEs and startups to global trade, calling for better access to finance, simpler export procedures, and enhanced skill development.

“Trust, transparency, and sustainability are becoming central to global business. The future will not be defined by the absence of boundaries, but by how effectively we transform them… They are not barriers to overcome, but bridges to build,” he said.
Sandhu’s remarks highlight India’s increasing prominence in global trade, innovation, and resilient supply chain strategies.
