Mondelez Taps Finance Titan Amit Banati to Navigate Global Food Market Headwinds

Mondelez International has announced a significant executive appointment, naming former Kellogg chief Amit Banati as its new Chief Financial Officer (CFO). Effective July 1, Banati will take the helm of the finance division. This move comes as Mondelez seeks further strength in a challenging packaged food landscape.

Banati is set to assume the CFO role, succeeding Luca Zaramella. Zaramella previously served as the company’s finance chief for over eight years before being appointed Chief Operating Officer (COO) in January of this year.

Banati’s Extensive Executive Finance Background

Amit Banati brings a deep well of experience from his time at major consumer goods companies. He spent approximately 13 years serving as CFO at Kellogg. Following the company's split, he continued his tenure with Kellanova before moving to Kenvue for one year.

His background extends across global FMCG giants. Prior to joining Kellogg, Banati held senior leadership positions within Cadbury Schweppes and Mondelez’s predecessor firm, Kraft Foods. His career includes an extensive stint at Procter & Gamble (PG.N).

Mondelez Navigating a Challenging Consumer Landscape

Mondelez International continues to operate in an intensely competitive market for packaged food producers. The company has nevertheless managed to weather the tough environment facing many of its peers.

This resilience is attributed partly to strong demand metrics across key segments. Despite navigating higher commodity and operational costs, Mondelez is benefiting from sustained consumer interest in its biscuits and chocolate offerings.
