Mold-Tek Packaging Limited announced robust results for the first quarter of Fiscal Year 2026-27, demonstrating improved profitability and operational efficiency despite geopolitical uncertainties. The company reported net sales crossing the Rs 300 crores mark, while EBITDA growth was supported by enhanced capacity utilization.

The financial performance highlights a strong upward trend across all key metrics. Net Sales increased by 24.90% year-over-year, reaching $300.45$ crores from $240.56$ crores in the corresponding quarter of the previous year. EBITDA for the quarter rose by 19.10% to $56.43$ crores, compared to $247.38$ crores in Q1 FY 2025-26. Net Profit (PAT) grew by 14.15%, achieving $25.57$ crores against $22.40$ crores in the previous year's quarter. Sales Volume saw a growth of 6.25%, reaching $12,089$ MT from $11,378$ MT in Q1 FY 2025-26.

The company also reported significant increases compared to Q4 of the previous financial year. Net Sales increased by 26.32%. Net Profit (PAT) surged by 23.89%, and EBITDA grew by 17.31%, reflecting effective cost management and operational efficiencies.

Operational Excellence and Consolidation Drive​

The company attributed its strong performance to strategic consolidation and enhanced capacity utilization in Hyderabad, which translated into improved profitability. The Chairman and Managing Director, J Lakshmana Rao, stated that the all-round performance reflects Mold-Tek's focus on operational excellence. EBITDA per kilogram reached a historical high of Rs 46.68 in Q1 FY27, up from Rs 41.64 per kg in Q1 FY26.

In recent months, Mold-Tek has consolidated five units in Hyderabad into two major units—located at Annaram and Sultanpur. This consolidation allowed all printing activities to be managed under one roof, leading to reduced overheads, inter-unit transfers, and rejections. The company's capacity utilization reached 75%, further contributing to the improved EBITDA margins.

Segment Performance and Strategic Focus​

To meet increasing demand, Mold-Tek is significantly investing in capacity expansion. In response to the pharmaceutical segment's growth, the company commissioned additional Molding Machines and an Assembly Machine in Q1. For Food & FMCG packaging, eight new injection moulding machines were commissioned at its Sultanpur, Hyderabad facility.

Marketing Vice President J Rana Pratap mentioned a "humongous opportunity" in Pharma Packaging, noting plans to enter high-margin areas including diagnostics and dosage pens. The company is also examining opportunities to enter Electronics and Semi-conductor packaging utilizing its deep knowledge in mold making and Robotics.

Market Penetration and Customer Gains​

Mold-Tek continues to expand its customer base across key sectors. In the Food Industry, notable wins include Alphonsa Cashew, Bakerville Specialities, Beejapuri Daily, DS Agrotech, Sam Flour & Spices, SGB Food, and Veg Crop Agro. The Pharma sector secured orders from Blackgoldust, Pharma Force Lab, Pure source Nutrition Pvt Ltd, and Topiox Research Centre Pvt Ltd among others.

Established in 1986, Mold-Tek is a leading manufacturer of injection moulded rigid plastic packaging containers with over 63,000 TPA installed capacity across its twelve manufacturing units. The company is recognized as the first in India to introduce the In-Mold Labeling (IML) concept for decorating plastic containers using robots and remains the only domestic player to design and manufacture these specialized robots.
