Law&Crime's Court TV Moves to Amagi CLOUDPORT, Modernizing Live Broadcast and Streaming Operations
Amagi, a global media cloud platform, announced that Law&Crime has migrated its Court TV channel, encompassing both live broadcast and Free Ad-supported Streaming TV (FAST), onto the Amagi CLOUDPORT platform. This strategic move replaces previous manual and disconnected systems with a single automated cloud environment, significantly enhancing the reliability and accessibility of Court TV's live and breaking news coverage across broadcast, streaming, and connected TV platforms. The migration was executed following Law&Crime's acquisition of Court TV. The organization initiated the transition in-house, completing the complex network operations shift within five months. Amagi's cloud-native platform facilitated the rapid and efficient modernization of Court TV's infrastructure, mitigating the typical delays associated with traditional broadcast transitions. Furthermore, Amagi developed custom automation workflows to support key operational processes, ensuring the seamless delivery of Court TV's breaking news coverage during the transition period.
Court TV currently broadcasts approximately 10 hours of live programming each weekday, which are subsequently repackaged into weekend syndication without any manual rebuilding.
To ensure stability, Amagi conducted rigorous testing of every playlist, metadata feed, and distribution endpoint against Court TV's previous setup. When late-stage readiness concerns were flagged by Law&Crime, Amagi adjusted the plan, providing ten days of hands-on hypercare and an onboarding specialist on-site for the initial week of the transition. The outcome confirmed zero disruption to the live service across all downstream platforms.
"We had five months to take on Court TV and no room for downtime," said Debasish Mishra, Chief Technology Officer of Law&Crime. "A migration this complex is never trouble-free, but what mattered was having a partner who understood the assignment, adjusted when the plan needed to change, and kept working the problem with us until we were across the finish line. We came out of it with origination infrastructure that scales as our footprint grows across broadcast, FAST, and streaming."
Srinivasan KA, Co-founder and President-Global Business at Amagi, stated, "Migrating live operations without any disruption takes precision, and that is exactly what our team delivered. By unifying broadcast and FAST on CLOUDPORT and automating day-to-day scheduling and playout, we have freed Law&Crime's Court TV team to focus on programming, not operations. Delivering this unification and automation in six weeks with zero disruption speaks to our platform and our team's execution."
