Laser Power & Infra Limited Secures First Commercial Order for Next-Generation AECC Conductors
Laser Power & Infra Limited has received a Letter of Intent (LoI) from Himachal Pradesh State Electricity Board Limited (HPSEBL) for a turnkey reconductoring project in the Nalagarh Electrical Division, Himachal Pradesh. The order is valued at approximately ₹4.15 crore.The project involves the supply and installation of High Temperature Low Sag (HTLS) conductors. This initiative aims to improve power supply reliability by replacing conventional conductors with advanced technology that enhances transmission capacity while utilizing existing tower infrastructure.
This marks the first commercial deployment for Laser Power & Infra Limited under its manufacturing partnership with TS Conductor Corp., USA, which was established in March 2025. The project will utilize Aluminium Encapsulated Carbon Core Conductors (AECC), manufactured domestically by Laser using proprietary pre-tensioned carbon fibre composite core technology from TS Conductor.

Technology and Market Impact
The AECC conductors are engineered to provide 2-3 times the power carrying capacity of conventional ACSR conductors while maintaining minimal thermal sag at high operating temperatures. Because these conductors are compatible with existing transmission infrastructure, they are suitable for upgrading aging corridors without extensive civil infrastructure upgrades.This project is positioned as a significant milestone in localizing next-generation transmission conductor technology in India. Laser Power & Infra Limited has previously prequalified and submitted bids for 18 transmission EPC projects involving reconductoring with advanced HTLS conductors. The HPSEBL order serves as the first commercial success in this strategic business segment.
Deepak Goel, Chairman and Managing Director of Laser Power & Infra Limited, stated that the order validates the company's strategy to bring globally proven conductor solutions to India’s power sector. He noted that reconductoring is expected to be a key pillar of India's grid modernization program as utilities seek to manage rising electricity demand and reduce line losses.
