Laser Power & Infra Limited Secures First Commercial Order for Next-Generation AECC Conductors
Laser Power & Infra Limited has received a Letter of Intent (LoI) from Himachal Pradesh State Electricity Board Limited (HPSEBL) for a turnkey reconductoring project in the Nalagarh Electrical Division, Himachal Pradesh. The order is valued at approximately ₹4.15 crore and involves the supply and installation of High Temperature Low Sag (HTLS) conductors. The project is designed to improve power supply reliability by replacing conventional conductors with advanced HTLS technology. This method allows utilities to increase transmission capacity while utilizing existing tower infrastructure, providing a cost-effective and sustainable way to strengthen the power grid without requiring additional right-of-way or new towers.
First Commercial Deployment of TS Conductor Technology
This contract represents the first commercial deployment for Laser Power & Infra Limited under its manufacturing partnership with TS Conductor Corp., USA, which was established in March 2025. The project will utilize Aluminium Encapsulated Carbon Core Conductors (AECC), which are manufactured in India by Laser using proprietary pre-tensioned carbon fibre composite core technology from TS Conductor. The deployment of AECC technology is significant as it may represent India's first commercial project involving this specific proprietary technology. These conductors are engineered to carry 2 to 3 times the power capacity of conventional ACSR conductors while minimizing thermal sag and reducing line losses.
Project Scope and Strategic Importance
According to the company, the adoption of AECC technology by HPSEBL addresses the growing demand for solutions that enhance grid efficiency and increase transmission capacity without expanding existing corridors. Laser Power & Infra Limited is positioning itself as a domestic provider of these next-generation solutions as utilities focus on upgrading aging networks to meet rising electricity demands. The company has already prequalified and submitted bids for 18 transmission EPC projects involving reconductoring with advanced HTLS conductors at 66 kV and above. The HPSEBL order serves as the first commercial success in this strategic business segment.
