Somany Ceramics Limited, a leading player in the ceramic and vitrified tile market, has released its Business Responsibility and Sustainability Report (BRSR) for the financial year 2025-26. The report details the company's operational scope, commitment to environmental stewardship, and focus on social responsibility across its vast supply chain and workforce.

The disclosures underscore Somany Ceramics' dedication to sustainable manufacturing processes, emphasizing Zero Liquid Discharge (ZLD), resource efficiency, and comprehensive employee well-being programs.

Business Operations and Market Reach​

Somany Ceramics operates through a national and international footprint, with the company having 2 plants and 23 offices nationwide, alongside one representative office located in Nepal. The company's business is structured across two primary segments: manufacturing and trading of Ceramic/Vitrified Wall & Floor Tiles (83.47% of turnover) and Trading of Sanitaryware & Bath Fittings (12.02%).

The entity serves a wide range of markets, operating across 29 Indian states and engaging with 62 international countries. The company holds a paid-up capital of ₹820.26 Lakhs.

Commitment to Environmental Stewardship and Resource Management​

A core focus in the report is dedicated to environmental management, particularly water and energy conservation, reinforcing Somany’s commitment to sustainable growth.

Both Kadi and Kassar facilities operate as Zero Liquid Discharge (ZLD) units, meaning that 100% of the wastewater generated on site is treated and reused in manufacturing processes, eliminating discharge into the environment. Three effluent treatment plants (ETPs) have been installed across the operations to facilitate this complete reuse of treated water.

The company is also actively pursuing renewable energy integration:

• Kadi and Kassar facilities boast existing solar capacity amounting to 3.5 MWp and 1 MWp, respectively.
• An additional 9.9 MWp solar power capacity has been secured through a special purpose vehicle (SPV) for the Kassar plant, enhancing long-term energy security.

Somany Ceramics maintains a significant workforce that spans both employees and manual laborers. The company reported 1,739 permanent employees and 2,624 total workers across the two categories in FY 2025-26.


The company demonstrates a strong commitment to the well-being of its workforce, adhering to principles of ethical conduct and ensuring workplace safety. Key measures include:

• Safety Compliance: All manufacturing units are certified under ISO 45001:2018 for Occupational Health and Safety (OHS). Regular training, job safety analysis (JSA), and the use of a structured Work Permit System are mandated for high-risk activities.
• Health & Benefits: Employees are covered by term and accidental insurance. Workers benefit from comprehensive care, with 2,066 out of 2,624 total workers (including other than permanent) being fully covered under accident insurance at the facility level.

Governance and Supply Chain Management​
