Operational Highlights and Outlook

Commenting on the results, Pravin Chaudhari, Managing Director of Kansai Nerolac Paints Ltd, stated that demand remained healthy in both the Decorative and Industrial sectors despite prevailing geopolitical situations. He noted that demand for KNP in Automotive continued to outperform the market, bolstered by various initiatives, and performance coatings registered strong growth.

The company acknowledged facing supply chain disruptions and a significant increase in raw material prices due to the West Asia geo-political situation, coupled with sharp depreciation of the rupee against the dollar. Kansai Nerolac added that management has taken price increases during this period to partially offset the impact of severe inflation, though they remain watchful concerning environmental uncertainties caused by geopolitical factors.

Looking forward, the company anticipates continued strong demand in both market segments, even amidst erratic monsoon conditions and ongoing geopolitical concerns, with the later Diwali date potentially adding a festive uplift.

Industry Context

The broader domestic paint industry is estimated to be valued at approximately Rs 82500 crores as of March 2026. The future demand for paints in the industry is expected to benefit from strong growth across infrastructure, core sectors, automobile, and real estate.
