Infra Stock Explodes as Chavda Infra Announces 1:1 Bonus Issue After Market Surge

Chavda Infra, an Ahmedabad-based infrastructure and construction company, has announced a significant bonus issue, rewarding its shareholders after the smallcap stock experienced remarkable growth. The company declared a 1:1 bonus issue, making it one of the key corporate actions following its substantial rally in recent months.

The announcement followed a board meeting held on Thursday, where the directors reviewed and approved the proposal. Under the new plan, the company will distribute one free bonus share for every existing share held by shareholders as determined on the official record date.

Financial Rewards Fuel Smallcap Surge

The decision to issue bonus shares is often viewed positively in financial markets. It typically signifies strong underlying financial health and positive growth prospects within the issuing entity. For investors, while a bonus issue does not change the company's total market capitalization, it can significantly improve liquidity and affordability of the stock.

Chavda Infra’s board sanctioned the plan to increase its authorized capital. The company will expand its authorized capital from an existing Rs 35 crore divided into 3.5 crore shares to Rs 70 crore divided into 7 crore shares, maintaining a face value of Rs 10 per share.

Capital Structure and Reserves Details

The issuance of bonus shares is funded by utilizing reserves held within the company. Chavda Infra stated that nearly Rs 32.66 crore from its free reserves and share premium will be used for this purpose.

As of March 31, 2026, the company maintains a robust financial structure. Its balance across premium reserve, free reserves, and retained earnings stands at approximately Rs 188 crore. The record date, which determines shareholder eligibility, is yet to be announced.

Market Performance Highlights Stock's Ascent

The stock has performed exceptionally well in recent periods. Shares of Chavda Infra have rallied more than 53% in one month and managed a strong gain of 7% within the past week. On Friday, the stock was trading at around Rs 134.50 apiece on the NSE.

This performance marks a significant recovery period for the smallcap. The stock had previously touched a 52-week low of Rs 80.60 at the end of March this year. It subsequently rallied an impressive 71% to reach a 52-week high of Rs 138 earlier this week.

Year-to-Date Gains and Market Valuation

Overall, the stock has delivered substantial returns for investors in 2026. Chavda Infra shares have gained more than 9% since the beginning of 2026, translating to a gain of 24% over an entire year's timeframe. The company currently commands a market capitalization exceeding Rs 439 crore.

The bonus shares are expected to be credited within 60 days from the date of the board’s approval. Only shareholders holding the stock on the specified record date will be eligible to receive these complimentary shares.
